Here is my devotional for tonight. I thought that I would share it with you. The verse that goes with it is Luke 2:11-12 (posted on the left side bar).
"God's Christmas Gift"
"The familiar words from the second chapter of Luke remind us that the ultimate Christmas gift was presented to mankind in the form of a baby; wrapped in simple clothes, laid in a manger.
The Christ Child was born in the most humble of circumstances: in a nondescript village, to parents of simple means, far from the seats of earthly power. Jesus came not as a conquering king but as a suffering servant. He did not preach a message of retribution or revenge; He spoke words of compassion and forgiveness. We should do our best to imitate Him.
Luke told of shepherds who were tending their flocks on the night Christ was born. May we, like those shepherds of old, leave our fields-wherever they may be-and pause to worship God's priceless gift: His only begotten Son."
It ends with a quote from Rick Warren: "The miracle of Christmas is not on 34th Street; it's in Bethlehem."
May you not forget the most wonderful Christmas gift of all...Jesus Christ.
