England...yes...England

IT'S A MIRACLE!! We are in England right now and are staying in a hotel room with an internet connection (we were just unfortunate enough to pick the two hotels in Scotland that do not have a connection...thus continues our adventure!!). So, let me just tell you how excited I was to get my fingers on this computer and blog!! (I may have confused some of you...we will have quick and easy internet access as soon as we find a house...which we are still looking...apparently rentals of the size we want are not abundant in the area of Scotland we are in.) O.K., so back to the blog...yes, we are in England...cool, huh!?! Actually, we had to drive 5 hours to the nearest US base to get our car (which we shipped from the states)...which in retrospect, was a terrible idea! No turning back now...the car is here. At least we'll know to tell the next people coming here! Anyway, it, like Scotland, is just breathtaking! We will take this trip probably every 4-6 weeks, as this is the base where our APO box is located too (our mailbox...for those of you who are not military). So, we'll hopefully get good at timing the Old Navy internet orders to be picked up while we're there!! I told Cody we should note all the Bed and Breakfasts along the way and try them all out in our 3 year's time here! (As we've found out, 'tis very expensive to stay overnight here, though!)

What else is new...Jackson took a few steps yesterday on his own!! We finally found a toy store here and bought a walker yesterday for him. What do ya know...20 minutes after using it, he let go and took about 8 steps and with the BIGGEST smile on his face! Since then, not but 3 or 4 on his own, but he sure enjoys that walker!

We bought another car from another military couple here that will be leaving in February, so we will have two cars (granted we pass all the inspections and driving tests on Monday and Tuesday that the AF requires here) come the end of the week, one with the steering wheel on the right and one on the left...THAT should be interesting...and confusing!! Oh well...again, our adventure continues.

And in the "letting" house department...nothing new. We have found a house that is perfectly sized and priced with bright purple, red, pink, blue, turquoise and mauve walls (who in their right mind paints a rental unit these colors...and they don't even really go together!) that is available for 2 years...which, is the longest rent we can find. Things don't work the same here on rentals as they do in the states (long story). Go figure...we may chance it and hope it becomes available the last year we're here...I'll keep you updated.

Next time I get to the internet, I'll blog again. Thanks for all your comments...it makes me feel like you all are not quite so far away!

More and more new stuff but it sounds cool. What an adventure. I also imagine you only have a few short weeks before you will be running after the little one. Oh boy new chapters of life!
