I have had the incredible opportunity to spend the morning at Jackson's preschool helping 5 year olds to ice cookies, hand out valentines, and describe what Valentine's Day is and means. That was my favorite ... the explanations of what Valentine's Day is. Answers included: "it's when the love bug bites us and we share love," "it's all about love," "when we give Valentines," but my favorite came from our one sweet son.
This kid never ceases to amaze me. Just when we think he does not listen AT ALL to ANYTHING we say, he says something that makes us realize that, even when we think he is not listening, he is. So imagine how proud I was when he raised his hand and the teacher called on him and he said, "It's about God's love." It was at that moment that my heart melted. YES! God is the ULTIMATE example of love and if my son understands this and realizes that God wants us to love him and others, well, I believe he's discovering THE main principle of life...and growing closer to beginning a relationship with Jesus!
